Was there something weird about the anatomy of ancient Egyptians?

They were good artists when it came to depicting the human form. But all humans had both eyes on one side of their heads, like flounders.

All those dynasties, start to finish showed them that way. Surely if it weren't so they'd have eventually figured out how a human being looks in profile over the centuries.

Was it this physical trait that brought the end of Egyptian dominance because nobody wanted to breed with someone with both eyes on the same side of his head?
