He gave them eternal life and then put the forbidden tree in the center of the Garden of Eden, next to the Tree of Life. At some point in their life they would be curious! And God should have known that in the first place, since he knows everything. If he didn't want them to eat from the tree he would have done something to prevent it, like not putting the tree there to begin with.
Why did god need to see if Adam and Eve were obedient to him? Shouldnt he have known that with free will they may not always follow what he wants them to do? Why would god need to have an obedience experiment when he knows the outcome.
So it was his plan all along for us to not have eternal life, right? Then what was the purpose of the Garden of Eden?
He could have made them differently so they wouldn't eat from the tree. And God knows everything so he must have known they were going to do it even though he said not to
