Was gay marriage ever permitted in any ancient civilization? if so, which one and when?

Very interesting Hilary but that only proves that homoseuality existed in those cultures, we're talking about gay marriage.

I don't think in ancient civilizations they thought about being gay and if they did I'm pretty sure it wasn't a big issue..
 
I don't really think it would be permitted, unless one of the presidents were ghey.
 
Sodom and Gomorrah, but then God destroyed them because homosexuality is an extremely bad thing and God does not like it one bit
 
Japan all over right before the 1850's I believe. Gay love was thought more honorable then any other kind. There was even a book written back then encouraging it.
