Was Cesar Vallejo a surrealist poet? or a poet committed to Marxism?

Did he write that he would die on a rainy day in Paris and died as he wrote?
Sri sri translated someof his poems in Telugu and in the foot notes, he described him as a surrealist poet in Spanish and in another foot note, he described him as a Marxist poet. which one is correct?
 
The two are not mutually exclusive. Surrealism is a style of writing. Marxism is a set of political/social/economic beliefs. Surrealist poets may embrace many different political ideas, and Marxist poets may adopt many different writing styles.
