Was Barrera's controversial loss to Marquez the most "untalked" controversy in

boxing in modern times? Nobody seem to talk about Barrera's bout with Marquez which was close. I dont consider it a robbery because it was a close fight but I thought, like many others, Barrera did enough to win, especially when he scored a knock down. The fight was close but in Harold Lederman's scorecard, he had Barrera winning 114-113 with the 2 points deduction on Barrera. I actually had the score of 115-112 Barrera like many boxing sites and thats with the 2 points deduction as well. One judge score it 118-109 for Marquez!!! Most analysts also had the score either a draw or Barrera winning by at least two rounds. And Barrera actually won the first three rounds by huge margins and he won 4 of the last 5 rounds, except 12.

Plus Marquez was actually knock down, but they call it was controversially called a slip even when Marquez gloves touched the canvass. Plus Barrera was deducted 2 points by the punch he threw on Marquez while Marquez was kneeling down.

Barrera landed more punches 262 to 255, plus he landed more power shots than Marquez and threw more punches as well with a decent percentage connection! Barrera was barely getting off a huge loss to Pacquiao by way of TKO and he proved he was still a great fighter and he seemed to have outboxed Marquez.

So Barrera scores a knockdown, lands more punchers with higher connection, and outbox Marquez but still lose in the judges scorecards by a huge margin? What are your opinion? Thanks :-)
@RICLOPEZ, a draw would be fair perhaps :-)

@ John B, you're funny bro, but you made a good point! :-)

@ truth x, thats an interesting perspective.I do think even if the punching stats favored Barrera, you were exactly right, Marquez looked better in the exchanges. :-)

@ kalambre, lol, what can I do bro, the world will never change! :-)
