Was Anyone Watching "Family Guy" on TBS tonight?

It happened about 9:40 p.m., just as tonight's "Cleveland-Loretta" episode had just started. The rest of the episode had been pre-empted for the beginning of the Spurs-Hornets NBA playoff game (the other playoff game on TNT--forget which teams were playing in it right now--was running long).

Aside from the infamous "Heidi Bowl" incident a few decades or so back, I can't remember a TV show being pre-empted for such a "world-shattering" event as an NBA playoff game. Or does this happen regularly on TBS, especially at playoffs time?

Your comments, please?

It's not a big deal. TBS airs 10 episodes of Family Guy every week. As well as Adult Swim. So, I'm sure you'll get another chance to see the episode. And to answer your question, no, its not a common thing.

I think it may have actually been a mistake.. that was the impression i got when a message popped up on my screen about it while I was answering phones at Dish Network. Can't say for sure though, because I clicked off the box without paying attention, since I don't work in the department that would be fielding those calls.

But I can imagine a few irate FG viewers venting their frustration out on the people who do take those calls. I imagine those poor operators having quite a time with that.

I never watch Family Guy on TBS. [adult swim] runs FG 6 nights a week, 2 times a night on weeknights. I don't that many folks would be complaining, except maybe the ones who don't get [as].

I think very few people would complain about a syndicated rerun being preempted. The premiere is what's really important. Reruns are what you show/watch when you've got nothing better to do.

I don't know, an awful lot of people develop daily routines that incorporate syndicated reruns into them, and they do get angry when that's disrupted.

My dad and I (when I'm home from college) usually watch syndicated Two and a Half Men everyday at 7:30 on the local CW affiliate, for example, and then the Family Guy at 11:00 on Cartoon Network. If CN pulls some stunt or the CW affiliate airs some sports to disrupt that, it usually greatly annoys my dad.

And I've met plenty of others. One job I was on for a fireplace repair, the couple that lived there actually planned their dinner time around Law and Order reruns on TNT or USA or whatever they watched it on, and I could imagine them very cranky if that were to be disrupted (even though Law and Order runs syndicated on just about every network just about all day long).

I find it rather ridiculous, but these things are quite important to a lot of people.

When it popped up, the announcer was like, "again, we apologize to our current TBS viewers, but we're about to play some basketball here." Haha.

They did that cause the other game before that went on a little longer than expected. Why is anyone surprised about this?

Yes and it has happen before. Whenever a NBA game is running long on TNT and another game starts, they will air the game on TBS.

It wasn't. One of the games on TNT was running a bit long and they needed to start the next so they aired it on TBS.

I had a job where I had to deal with annoying callers. So, I feel their pain.

What are you talking about?

lol. Exactly.
