Was a good idea to take the ACT Test?

ACT was my savior. Colleges took my ACT score faster than a hot coffee, and I was accepted to my 2nd choice university. Best decision I ever made as a teenager.
 
Ok, here's the thing:
I'll be taking the ACT Test this Saturday, just because a friend of mine told me that I have to do it if I want to study on the US. I'll be graduating from High School in one semester, and I'm studying at Juarez, Mexico. I want to attend UTEP, but I'm still not very sure what I have to do to get in there. I'm a US Citizen, and now that I'm finishing HS, I want to study where I "have to", so...
Any help will be appreciated.

YES! The ACT is great! They don't subtract points from your total grade when you miss a question like the SAT and I'm pretty sure all schools allow the ACT. I didn't even take the SAT but I did really well on the ACT. You could also take both... but if you do well on the ACT you don't really need to. Also you can take either test as many times as you want. Study (pretty) hard but don't get to anxious! Good luck
