Warren Buffett: Stop Coddling the Super-Rich!

yeah let's increases taxes

it's like shooting a bb gun at a locomotive. doesn't mean fucking dick when the govt is spending 1 trillion/yr+

the proposed tax increases are only what a few hundred billion over so many years? what a joke

Scenario:

You earn $3,000,000 this year by doing nothing other than being the first egg to the sperm and pay 15% average tax rate.

I earn $150,000 this year working 50 hours/week and pay a 22% average tax rate (ignoring the payroll taxes I pay as well that you don't).

How is this an equitable tax system?

You may have heard the claim that about half of Americans pay no federal income tax. That?s a true fact. My Tax Policy Center colleagues estimate, for example, that 46% of householRAB either will pay no federal income tax in 2011 or will receive more from the IRS than they pay in.

Today, TPC released a new study that examines why these people end up paying no federal income tax.

The nuraber one reason should come as no surprise. It?s because they have low incomes. As my colleague Bob Williams notes:

A couple with two children earning less than $26,400 will pay no federal income tax this year because their $11,600 standard deduction and four exemptions of $3,700 each reduce their taxable income to zero. The basic structure of the income tax simply exempts subsistence levels of income from tax.

Low incomes (or, if you prefer, the standard deduction and personal exemptions) account for fully half of the people who pay no federal income tax.

The second reason is that for many senior citizens, Social Security benefits are exempt from federal income taxes. That accounts for about 22% of the people who pay no federal income tax.

you have to leave your home to go get married too. Your arguments keep failing their own examples miserably.

I take it you DON'T see healthcare as a right then? good. so now we are in agreement.

In other worRAB you're ignorant.

Without the right to life, which is pretty obvious, you have no rational claim to any other rights. Without the fundamental right to life you have no means to logically argue any other rights, you are simply at the whim or whoever is in power to tell you what you can and cannot do and why. There is no rational system. Without a right to life you have an irrational system of laws, or a system of no laws what so ever. There is no reason you can't murder someone and rob them, which means there is no such thing as property rights, unless you are alive, but since you have no right to life, and I can kill you, you have no property rights. Without the right to life you have no rational system through which to view any other human right.

And I love how you say I never back up any of my claims when you in fact either cannot make a claim of your own, and simply ask questions of others, or simply refuse to present an argument and why you believe it. You're like a moronic devil's advocate on every issue.

"past performance is not a guarantee of future results"

He's referring to investing money into the stock market rather than jumping into tax-preferential municipal bonRAB or other low-risk investment vehicles (savings accounts, CRAB, money market).

I already told you that rights are guaranteed by those with the power to enforce them.
Surely someone as familiar with Rand's Objectivism would understand this.
