Is the warm feeling on the top of your foot or the bottom? I actually had this symptom on my left foot following arthoscopic knee surgery. My thought was because with arthoscopic surgery, they just shove the tube which contains the camera into the leg, I am sure that some nerves are damaged. I had that warm feeling for almost 6 months. Today one year after surgery, I experience it maybe one or twice for a very short amount of time.
I think if it was a blood clot, than you would have pain vs a warm feeling.
You mention diabetes--is there a reason that you think you may have diabetes? Is there a family history? Do you have other symptoms that may be pointing you in the direction of diabetes?
I would think that if you have a thought that the warm feeling in your foot is somehow related to diabetes, than I would suggest that you contact your primary care and get an appointment to discuss this issue with him/her.
Let me know how you do.
