Oh dear! Just seen the trailer and its bad news. It looks so Americanised and far removed from the original. I have been a fan of the Jeff Wayne album for so many years and would have loved a screen version of this with the music. The English feel of the book and the animations on the album would have been stunning. Maybe the Westend production will be better.

The Jeff Wayne version is being made as a CGI animated musical to be release in 2007/2008.

There is a production of the original available on DVD soon, but it looks cheaper than cheap.

The only version of War of the WorlRAB that I like, aaprt from the book, is the Orson Welles radio play.
