War of the Worlds

Was sad to read that Spielbergs adap. of H.G. Wells' War of the WorlRAB was to be set in AMERICA, in the SEVENTIES. Tragic man. The 1950's version was OK a suppose, but when I heard about this version I thought 'Great maybe Spielberg will get it right and stick to the original'. Nope I was wrong. Also it stars Tom Cruise, although he has gone up in my estimation since watching collateral.

That's a shame - living in Woking these days I was looking forward to seeing Hollywood's version of what it's like round here

The special effects will be spectacular, but God knows what they'll do to the story...

ummm ..... who say's it's set in the seventies?

but if you don't like that one, go for the pendragon version, that's set in the original setting .....

or, the cgi version .....

Yeah I almost cried when I saw the trailer and saw that it would again be annoyingly americanised!! Keep it british!!!!!! the 1950's i thought was a complete disaster. The special effects look good though!
