Does anyone know when War of the WorlRAB wont be showing in the cinemas anymore, I want to see it while its still there but a bit skint!! How long do I have?? I watch my movies at VUE cinema if that helps at all??
Thank you in advance!

I think it really depenRAB where you are. I'm guessing your in a city or near one and I expect VUE cinemas to be at least showing it for a couple more weeks or maybe longer.

Can you tell us which VUE cinema it is? Might be able to find something online then.

I thought it was a good film graphics and sound wise. Also Dakota Fanning's acting was top notch. Best acting in the film by far. Tom Cruise was a big dissapointment for me.

went to see it last night and first 10 minutes were shown at the wrong
settings everyone on screen looked way to fat and a boom mike was vissible thruoghout the scenes in the house someone complained and it was fixed funny though
it was at an odeon complex
great film lot darker than original tim robbins was good
dakota fannings stole the show

One or two daft plot flaws, but other than that, this version is both bleak and horrific, and definitely worth seeing on the big screen. Loved it. And I have to say, the sound effect used for the tripod call is quite possibly the most evocatively terrifying sound effect ever created. Listen to it a few times - it's perfection - really does get under your skin.

I finally saw it properly over the weekend and I was all ready to dislike it, expected all the stuff with the little girl would be horribly sickly. She asks him to sing a lullaby, doesn't know any and sings a Beach Boys song instead. That's it really. The rest of it is pretty damn dark really (does Tom do what I think he does to Tim Robbins?!). It's very spectacular of course and there's clearly some post-9/11 stuff going on. The sound effects are great, that alien call IS awesome (where's the cuddly Close Encounters aliens now?) It's not the greatest film in the world but have seen much worse.

Are you kidding? When we saw it everyone burst out laughing everytime it was heard. It was like they were under attack by a pot noodle advert.

To be honest, that was the best part of the film.

Luckily, we had no Pot Noodle experts in our audience.

Great film. Much under-rated. Outstanding effects. Outstanding sound. The rout of civilization hasn't been depicted with as much frightening brutal realism as this since "Saving Private Ryan". Only spoiler for me was Morgan freeman's intro. It's punch and delivery not a patch on Richard Burton's.

Hell yes, it is utterly terrifying. I was in the car and we went over a really rough patch and it made the same sound (made louder as it made the car around me vibrate) and I nearly died of shock!

I work at a cinema so kinda know how it works. Film schedules for the week are done on a monday or tuesday, and how many showings of the film in the next week are decided on how busy the film was over the previous 3day, friday, saturday, sunday. So if war of the worlRAB had gradually been getting lower attendance, the number of showings/screen size would decrease until it was no longer viable to be renting the film. Hope that helps
