Wanting a new phone...

I've got the SE P800 right now and I've learned my lesson in large bulky phones. This is what I'm looking for in a phone, and I was hoping you guys could give me some advice.

I've been looking at the W600 and it looks cool, but what do you guys think? Does it come in any other colours other than orange?

1) MP3 player is a must. Bigger memory capacity the better... Dont need more than 512MB. Stereo headphones would be nice.

2) Synchs well with MS Outlook. Would like it to have the native functionality to synch with folders in outlook. The P800 doesnt have this and it makes me mental. Would like it to synch with my contacts as well as calendar.

3) Don't really care, or need camera / video capabilities. I think I've used it less than a dozen times in total. Not important, but if it has one, fine.

4) Easy Key-Lock would be great. Something pysical like the MP3 players "Hold" button would be best. I dont like having to hit key combos to unlock.

5) Dont need the ability of watching video or pictures on the phone.

6) Needs flight mode.

7) GSM

8) I don't really play games on it, so joystick isn't all that important, but I'll take it if it comes with one

9) speaker phone would be nice

10) Bluetooth not mandatory, but it would be nice

11) Easy-ish SMS would be great. The P800 has the stylus which isnt bad, but I'd like something blackberry-ish if possible. I know i'm asking a lot

12) Flip vs no Flip - Doesn't matter. No flip, needs to have a good key guard.

13) Colour screen - yes, but doesn't need to be very high quality.

14) Web browsing would be good. Got used to being able to surf for directions and stuff from the p800.

How's that for requirements? Am I being too high maintenance? Let me know.

The w600 comes with a blackish/blue faceplate as well. You can change the faceplate to almost any color you want. Faceplates are widely sold on EBAY.

1. w600 has a MP3 Player but doesn't have 512MB. It only has 26MB integrated into the phone and also bad thing about itis that the w600 doesn't have a expansion slot for you to expand bigger memory with Memory Cards. If you really want more memory then I recommend going for the SE K750i instead.
2. NOT SURE ABOUT THIS ONE....
3. Yeah the w600 has a 1.3MP Cam.
4. Yes the w600 has a slide keylock feature on the side for you to lock the key without doing a button combo to lock the phone.
5. You dont need it but it does work with videos and pictures
6. Yes it has flight mode
7. Yes its a QUAD BAND GSM Phone
8. One of the reasons why they made the w600i is for gaming as it has the extra 2 buttons on the top to be used as gaming buttons. But if you dont want to play it then just leave it.
9. It has Dual Loud Speakers on the phone.
10. Yes it does include bluetooth.
11. Shouldn't have a problem with SMS
12. W600 actually swivels 180 degreas on each side so it unique in its own way.
13. The screen is actually pretty good on the w600i.
14. Should do fine with web browsing as it has EDGE which makes web browsing even better.

Well all of your prefrences fit the Sony Ericsson W600i so I guess it a perfect phone for you.

Sounds good. Just found this regarding Outlook. I still need to see if it supports folders.

A number of handy software tools are bundled with the W600, including a voice memo recorder, a calculator, a calendar, and an alarm clock. Use the W600's Bluetooth capability to set up a wireless link with a Bluetooth accessory or connect to a computer or handheld device to exchange and synchronize data. The phone also supports the SyncML PC synchronization standard. This means the phone can be used with the included Sony Ericsson Sync Station software, which lets you synchronize your Microsoft Outlook calendar, contacts, notes and tasks with your W600.

I'm thinking this is a good phone for me. Anything else in this class you think I should look at?

nokia e60? it's not out yet, but it doesn't have a camera and pretty much everything else you're looking for, including fast web browsing. it has an mp3 player and most nokia's have a 2 button-press lock process (not your hold button, but pretty easy IMHO). also, leaving out the camera would probly make this unit cheaper than others in its class.

edit: i also have not had problems sync'ing my nokia's with outlook. calendar and contacts sync fine, including notes and task list. it also has blackberry connectivity.
