I have a Reentry code: 4
I went AWOL during basic training, and was gone for more than 30 days. I turned myself with the intent to return to service, but was discharged due to my lack of initiative and understanding.
I have filled out 3 dd form 149's to upgrade my Reentry code and Discharge of "other than honorable", but was denied on on three attempts.
I have gone to the recruiting center and had an interview with the captain of the area, and then had an interview with the Major of the region, who then sent my paper work to a General in Fort Knox.
The General denied my reentry. Can anyone tell me if there are any other options I can try?
I am able to get on with my life, I have an opportunity that I am going for and believe I can achieve, but this mistake of going AWOL is weighing heavy on me, and would jump at the opportunity to get a second chance to fulfill my commitment,
