want to increase the performance and sound on my dodge magnum R/T?

i have a 2005 dodge magnum R/T and it performes and sounds great! of course i want better. i want to know how can i increase the performance and get a deeper sound coming from the muffler while spending less as possible. i was looking at replacing the whole exhaust system but a buddy of mine said i can just replace the muffler to get the deep sound? any pros out there could help me out?
 
You could replace the mufflers with aftermarket, But in order to get performance, Just get a whole cat-back system. And while you at it, an intake system and a chip or programmer.
