Want phone with BEST camera..

A lot more companies are releasing phones with 2 MP+ cameras built in, and I'm looking to get a phone that has the best camera. One that would possibly be comparable to a dedicated digicam. I know, I know, convergence devices always make sacrifices, but I'm hoping maybe some of you guys have used the 3 MP+ phones and can report their quality.

I know megapixels aren't anything, so maybe some of the current 2 MP phones out there are just as good. I need to use the camera to take simple pictures of items for Ebay snapshots, so I don't need super high quality, just around the equivalent to a Canon SD200, etc.

I had purchased a w800i in anticipation of its 2 MP camera, but the indoor shots were less than acceptable. The camera functioned very well and the flash was great, but it still wasn't there.

Please tell me that there is a camera that is worth the investment, because it's a lot easier to justify spending $700 on a phone if it's ALSO a digital camera
 
That's what I was afraid of. I believe I saw a comparison of the two on gsmarena.com.

I was hoping those sharp 3.2MP+ phones would yield better pics. I'll keep waiting...
 
Sharp 903, best pictures I've seen from a phone. Doesn't look as good as an SD200 (I have one), but by far the best you'll get out of a cell.
 
You think the 903 doesn't take good pics? What??






I don't think you'll see much better than those from a phone. Those were all taken by my 903SH by the way.
 
When I made those comments, I was assuming users thought the 903SH was not any good, but I am gladly mistaken.

I haven't been able to find many reviews on the 903SH with it being a more eastern limited release phone. Care to share where you got the phone, what price you paid, and the camera functions (ie can you hold the camera horizontally like a normal camera, flash, etc) ?
 
looking at reviews online and their comparisons.. i recommend sharp 903.. my w800i is 2mp but i can't exactly say its great. its alright but it won't be replacing my digicam anytime soon. It's better outdoors, but indoors there is still a fair amount of "noise" to it.
 
Did u see the price on the 903 it is outrageous. If you want a phone with a 1.5 mp camera mp3 player and blutooth get the NExtel i870. I mean like what more do u need on ur fone.
 
Its actually a much better value when compared to the i870. The i870 is $450 without a contract and the 903 is about $550 without contract now. The 903 beats the crap out of the Nextel in every way for only $100 (you'd have to sign a contract to get the i870 cheaper).

Anyone with any kind of brain would see that the only thing the nextel has going for it is PTT, and that goes out the window when the person who is looking doesn't want PTT
