Want a phone that's a good *phone*...

Ok, so I've got Verizon, and live in NY.

I currently have a RAZR (and only do because it was free). The only thing I really like about it is the form factor. The battery life is for crap, slowish menus, etc.

I'm looking at either the Nokia 6236i or the LG VX8300. I know they're two wildly different phones, I've never had a bar style phone before (or a Nokia, but I've had a good experience with the VX6000). I'm wondering which of these two works better as a phone.

I know the LG is probably more hackable and I can do more fun stuff with it which is always nice (since I did it with my RAZR), but I want a phone that works well, good reception, etc. BT isn't really a selling point, as well as the MP3 player, hell I don't really care about the camera either.

So, primary is phone function, then maybe customization (which is probably the LG), the rest is just fluff mostly.

Acutally the most customizable phone is the motorola e815 if you can find one since there discontinued think Circuit city and a few dealers on the internet might have them still. But the lg 8300 is a similar phone. The nokia is a really good phone it gets really good rf most your nokias and motos get the best rf.

Thanks for the reply, I think I've settled on the Nokia. I'm not up for my New Every Two thing, so I'm not sure if I'm going to be spending the $219 on this phone if I can't somehow find it cheaper elsewhere.
