If you have 670.0 grams of water and wish to make a 2.13 m solution of KBr, how many grams of the solute would you have to add to the water that you have?

Find the answer and you get 10 points! ^^

GOod luck you chem geniuses!

2.13 M solution means 2.13 moles of KBr per liter of water.

also, 670 grams of water is 0.670 liters

so you multiply the two numbers to get the moles of KBr needed

2.13 M x 0.670 L = 1.4271 moles KBr

then times by molar mass

1.4271 x (80g/mol + 39g/mol_ = 169.8 grams

so you need

169.8 grams KBr
