Walt Disney DVDs

Thanks graeme2020. 2009 is just so far way! Guess ill just need to be patient, & make sure i get a copy when it does come out! Snow White was another fave aswell. I used to have such a great collection of Disney viRAB as a kid, & id love to get it going again with the dvRAB. Guess you just need to be quick of the mark to get them when they are released, before you know it, they are gone!

2012!? Thats hideous! Im actually quite gutted now! lol Thanks though mangomoon.

Normally the platinum editions over here last a lot longer than a year.Is the limited time only stickers on the jungle book part of the new 'platinum ' packaging or is it really only gonna be out for a short time?

Well i was told and Disney have stated that they had planned on Starting their Platinum Edition line again in the fall off 2009 with Snow White. As the next one is 101 Dalmations, then Sleeping Beauty,Pinnochio...........then Snow White and so forth.....Maybe it could be wrong. The plan was also to release them in Blu Ray formats too.

Also if you do collect.Make sure you get them within the first few days and youll get a nice shiny embossed slipcover.

Disney have always done this though with their classics.

I like it this way, keeps DVRAB up to date i feel. I traded in my old Aladdin Video tape for the Aladdin DVD when it was released a few years back and the DVD has Jessica Simpson on it which I love lol. The next one will be different no doubt and may lead to another trade in.

Don't understand however the fact Toy Story 1 and 2 were re-released today, with the same stuff thats been available since it was released last year. Doesn't make sense in that regard, I prefer it with just the true classics. Can't wait to get Lion King and Beauty and The Beast when they re-appear

I know I shouldn't admit this but I'm off to buy a few copies of Jungle Book now and sit on them for a year or 2 before whacking them eBay and making a small profit. Wrong I know, but then again to buy Killer Klownz from Outer Space I had go through 5 auctions before I finally won one for such a rare R1 DVD.

The only thing is, more people are smartening up to this. At the time of Beauty And The Beast, for example, people didnt think to buy it quickly. However, now that people realise that these DVRAB ARE limited, they are picking them up on release, and not letting it go to eBay auctions to complete their collection.

Best of luck with that, anyway.

What exactly are Disney hoping to achieve by releasing films for 3 hours and then taking them off shelves untill 30 years later? It's insane and very irritating. I'm starting to lose interest.

yeah Last years was, and I've seen it in shops ever since, I never thought it was one of the limited availability DVRAB. But today in both Asda and Tesco they had the exact same DVD boxset I have that I got last xmas marked as new out today which I can't understand.

Just been on play, they have what appears to be single disc editions out today, thats fair enough I suppose, but Tesco and Asda were both trying to pass off old stock as new. Shocking really.

And it confused me. lol

I would be very surprised if the Euro packaging does not have foreign text on it in addition to English.

I have dvd's from France ,Holland,Germany ,Italy and Spain and none of them have all English packaging.

The title of the film is usually there but the text desrcription on the back is foreign.

Dutch releases sometimes have more English text too but not without any foreign text

They were, I heard it on Radio and stuff. In Tesco and Asda they are passing off the Boxset from last year, which I got for Xmas, as new. When in fact there are new cheaper single disc editions out new today with pop up boxes I've just discovered on Play and Amazon.

Scroll down and it tells release date.

Thats fair enough if its something different, although a year later is a bit soon imo

Resurrecting an old thread here, but I put in a "test" order with a1 DVD and my DVD's arrived this morning.

They come direct from Thailand and are far eastern pirate copies.

I tried Beauty and the Beast and Snow White and I'm just waiting to hear back from a1dvd to see if they will refund my return postage due to the pirated materials (they don't refund postage on returns normally).

A real case of buyer beware....

I ordered Beauty and the Beast and Sleeping Beauty on dvd from A1dvd. The Beauty and the Beast dvd is TERRIBLE quality (the Sleeping Beauty one is not too bad.. it's as good as the copy of the film that I video'd from the bbc when they showed it at Christmas a couple of years ago)

I emailed a1dvd and they told me that the film is NOT a pirate and they are a reputable company - and I'm a monkey's uncle!!!

When I went back and looked at the web site there is not one UK address to be found anywhere and it will cost me

How many buyers give a hoot about Cinderella 2 or any of the lame sequels.

Compared to the classic originals they are worthless throwaway junk

I am so excited to read that Disney are releasing Sleeping Beauty on dvd next year (pleeeeeease let this be true!!!) It is one of my fave disney films of all time .. I so wanted to be called Aurora when I was little (ok TMI .. LOL)
