There are at least
two more in progress within a few miles of here. We just helped them
relocate 3 of the "superstores" too so their tax forgiveness could be
renewed. "fresh" produce must be gassed because the minute
you get it home, it starts to spoil. I don't believe they can compete
with the distribution systems the supermarket chains have.
I also buy their
deli sliced cold cuts, same brands as anywhere else but at about 35%
less. But mostly I buy cat supplies from Walmart; food, litter, and
Rx... I save at least half, that's about $200/month savings, nothing
to sneeze at. I buy lots of other groceries there too

I thought the discussion was walmart vs others? I wrote what other
retailers pay and that they also provide benefits and are competitive.

I also forgot Aldi who pays cashiers 150% of walmart wages and has
benefits.

George, you are DISHONEST... you posted no such thing, and you are
still not giving specific dollar amounts, or listing specific
benefits. Walmart happens to be the highest paying of that type of
retailer in the industry and also offers the best benefits. Gearge,
you are a simple little low IQ gum flapping LYING lamer. Once again,
ALL those who bash Walmart have themselves or have a family member who
has been fired by Walmart for cause, *stealing/drugging* are the two
most common reasons, DISHONEST George.

Shelden, honestly I get it. You like low quality stuff at cheap prices
and you really don't care how it happens but you sure don't like anyone
discussing how it happens. I do understand selfish behavior. I am sure
you worry more about your cats than your neighbors.

You do know that your ad hominem attacks make you look silly right?

It was about WM, but I asked a question and you declined to answer. You
never said what "fair" is.

So, a cashier at an Aldi in Boston would make about $17.25 an hour? That is
better than some reasonably skilled workers.

Wal-Mart employee benefits including incentive/bonus plan, health insurance,
profit sharing, 401(k), education, store discounts and other Walmart
employment benefits. All Wal-Mart associates (full and part time) can become
eligible for insurance benefits
Wal-Mart's average, full-time hourly wage for Wal-Mart stores is $10.83 and
is even higher in urban areas. The average full-time hourly wage is $11.62
in Atlanta, $12.57 in Boston, $11.52 in Chicago, $11.26 in Dallas, $11.49 in
San Francisco and $11.48 in New York City. Associates also receive
performance-based bonuses.

You asked "what would I pay"? Since I don't own a retail enterprise the
point is moot. I gave my thoughts that are based on very accurate data
that walmart pays less than many other retailers.

So how much should a cashier make in Boston? $8? Then for the other half
they simply go to the welfare office?

Note the weasel words "can become"

Only a weasel would call "becoming eligible" weasel words... every
employer demands a new hire prove themselves before making large
investments in them, even union jobs have 90 day and longer trial

hire up and quits, or is fired for cause... pension plans are an even
greater employer investment. UNeducated George is definitely a WEASEL

Yup, Walmart makes their wages public, few other retailers do... those
are from the link I posted, the one you deleted like the weasel you
truly are. And those are *minimum* entry level wages, Walmart can and
does pay more, including working up a Career Path. Weasel George
still hasn't posted a varifiable wage scale from other similar
retailers, all he does is flap his LYING lips. I'm positive that
DIShonest George has never held a J O B... he's a bum, he's also
likely a thief and a drug addict.

You've got it backwards. WalMart has created the environment where no other
retail businesses can survive unless they mimic those tactics.

In the process WW brings down the quality of goods sold in the US by
specifying lower manufacturing standards for what appears to be identical
name brand merchandise, by virtue of the fact that they buy in such huge
quantities. Yet they sell this substandard garbage as identical product.

The best strategy I've ever heard someone offer for shopping at WeaselWorld
is "nothing with moving parts". To be safe I'd add "anything electronic".

Remember when WallyWorld used to tout it's allegiance to American
manufacturing? They have sold us out.

I hate WalMart.
