Wallpaper size for phones with new UI's

Hey,

I am new to this whole android thing (I have pre-ordered my Droid X...Yay!!) but I have been playing with some of my friends phones for a while. My question is phones coming out now have several home screens, for example Sense UI or the Droid X's 7 screens, so what size wallpaper can you use? I'm into photography and have already started working on some wallpapers this is the first one I have made its 2004 by 854 and I want to know if it can be used with the Droid X. Can someone please help me out?
 
The droid x resolution is 854x480, which is nearly the same resolution of the nexus and various other HTC phones (800x480). android stretches wallpaper to make it fit the screen so I'd not be too concerned about it
 
The wallpaper is bigger than the screen resolution though, as you only see a section of it on the screen at any given time (it moves left/right as you scroll desktops left/right).

So long as the ratio is in 1:1.33 it should work fine on any Android phone. Even if the resolution is too high the phone will shrink it to the right resolution. Make them a decent resolution and they'll still be great in 5 years time. Early 640x480 wallpapers look pretty low quality on new Android devices now, yet that was very good resolution for a phone just 2 years ago.

Phones with 3, 5, 7, 9, or more home screens all use the same size wallpaper, they just scroll the background image left/right by different amounts when you move home screens. When I was playing with a Samsung Galaxy S the other day (7 desktops I think) the background image hardly moves at all when you move to the next home screen.
 
Wow, i didnt know about the 854x480. Most of the sizes i have needed i found at www.androiddownloadz.com but this one isnt...
 
I am new here, found this site looking for how to set my wallpaper ... Found this app which made it easier for me to set my wallpaper. "Wallpaper Wizardrii" I can now set any image to be my wallpaper. Already posted this on another thread ... Cheers...
