Not a bad return for the duo, but I was a bit let down by the simple nature of the mystery. In the 4 previous films, there's always been a decent mislead as to what was really going on. Here, the murderer is pretty obvious from the get go and they don't even do much to make you consider others.

But hey, who can't love "GROMIT, there's a bomb in me pants!" :D :p
 
I remeber hearing quite a few months ago that they were going to do a new special, I'm just suprised it's already out!

BBC One has the trailer for it on Youtube and also have it on their website, but you can only watch it in the UK :crying: .
 
I don't think it measured up that well compared to previous adventures. It was hilarious, to be sure, but the pace was too uneven and there was a distinct paucity of enriching layers. Previous tales felt a lot longer than they were precisely because they were packed with such detail, but this adventure felt slight in comparison.

Still, it's good to see them back. :)
 
Going to have to echo the "good, but not their best" sentiments. And really, at this point there's a definite formula emerging - every film has to have a new job, a new love interest and a new animal sidekick, it seems.

But still - they did this one in 13 months. That's got to be worth an extra star from any reviewer, surely?
 
I think either The Wrong Trousers or A Close Shave stand out as their best, with the latter really setting the bar. Were-Rabbit wasn't bad but you could kind of feel the Dreamworks influence at points (like Wallace's 'death' scene).
 
Looking back, I think the short would've been better if it emphasised its melancholy moments more. I mean, make it a sad film... starring Wallace and Gromit. Which'd make it funny again.
Look at it this way - this is a film where Wallace's fiancee gets eaten by crocodiles. There's comic potential there which went untapped.
I read an interview with Nick Park where he said that he really wants to make a straight-faced, emotionally poignant film, but always ends up doing daft comedies instead. I think he missed his opportunity to do both at the same time.
 
I thought it was enjoyable.Nothing fantastic,but not crap at all.

I was more taken back by the other animation this chrsitmas called Lost and Found.

I thought that was gorgeous.It looked great and i enjoyed it with my girlfriend and young cousin's.
