I remember the original being on at the cinema in the late 80s, I was only a kid though, and just didnt care for it. remember thinking how boring that film looked!
Its always been one of those films I have wanted to see since.
I am pleased to hear that Charlie Sheen makes a little appearence in it.
this could be Micheal Douglas' swan song though, he is very poorly at the minute.
Just curious, I sometimes fall asleep in boring lectures and I often hope I'm not seen. I guess the back is one of the best places to sit as you've less chance of being seen (in the cinema and lectures!)
I used to think the same at that age, I even remember thinking anything business related was boring! Now I do it at university and watch movies like this (and anything else business related )
I am so going to see this at the cinema. I loved the first film with Charlie Sheen, brilliant. Think i might watch it again to refresh my memory of the storyline. But yeah, the sequel looks pretty good actually, as far as sequels go. Let's hope it was worth the wait.
Thought this was alright, not amazing, but then the original didn't blow me away either. Worst part was easily the short scene with Bud Fox, seemed to go against everything about his ending in the first film, and added zero to this one.
I thought it was pretty good, not as good as the original, but i was never expecting it to be. Shia Labeouf and Carey Mulligan did a pretty good job and Michael Douglas fell straight back into the role perfectly.
The Charlie Sheen cameo felt forced though, and quite frankly it seemed wierd and out of place within the movie. The whole "Hey, Gordon!" and subsequent back and forth was odd considering that Sheens character was integral to Gekkos downfall and prison time. You'd have thought they'd be a bit off with each other.
Your post very nearly put off going to see this movie
A long film with a slow moving storyline. However, I'm glad I went to see it. Excellent performance from Michael Douglas plus a very competent performance from Shia Labeouf
Haven't seen the original. To be honest there was no need to make a sequel, it just felt like to me they wanted to give a happy ending to the Gordon Gekko character.
The best thing about the film was Michael Douglas, but he wasn't in it nearly enough! But it was nice to see to him sink his teeth into something meaty like this. Shia LeBoeuf wasn't bad and Carey Mulligan did her job but what was with the Oliver Stone cameos?
I think the film would have made more of an impact if it had ended where
Shia goes to London to meet Gordon but Gordon refuses to make peace and apologise for his actions and Shia goes home with his tail between his legs. The happy ending just felt contrived.
