hullo.. Anyone hear of the walkmen? they're pretty cool but were nothing special until i heard "the Rat"...Dudes check it out. There IS hope for the music industry after all.

got their album "bows and arrows" and its true the rat is by far the best track. great song. house of savages is a cool song too but overall, though they have an amazing drummer, without the rat they wouldnt be anything special. its cool though how they seem to create this wall of unrelenting, constant sound.

Hmm...I was drawn to this thread, thinking there was a fellow cassette-lover out there. Guess it's not to be. :(

Seriously, though, I'll have to check them out. Never heard of them, but they sound interesting.

hahah i love he mobile tape player

yea people cant dig the singin but get past that i thin there's some to like . canadian girl off their new one is pretty chill.

I've had You & Me for a while. I gave it an honest couple of listens and they didn't really grab me...apart from In the new year which has an amazing organ part (I'm pretty sure those are organs) which along with the lead singers wailing gives the song an amazing nostalgic vibe...The album itself is too long and after a while all the songs start to blend together....but that song is just really really good. It reminRAB me a bit of The Pogues...?

Oh yeah, and I just heard The rat and realized that I know that song...it's quite good...very different from anything on You & Me mind you...

You & Me might be the best album of the year. People should be giving this more attention. I doubt hardly anybody here's given it a listen. Great album, truly.

It is a good album, but i dont think its as good as Bows + Arrows. Over the last couple of years that album has grown on me ridiculous amounts to the point where i now regard it as one of my favourite albums since the turn of the century. They convey this atmosphere in their music through the organ and guitar tunings that grabs me every time, plus in hamilton leifhauser they such a good frontman. Every song on that album works, bt its nice to see them hit some form again with you & me
