Wakfu should really be airing in the US.

It could definitely fill the adventure/fantasy void over here, with a solid story, creative setting and characters, and beautiful art (naysayers of Flash animation should really check it out and see how it can be used wonderfully). It could air either on Cartoon Network, Nicktoons Network, or Disney XD. Out of all the European shows they choose to air over here, I'm disappointed this isn't one of them. Plus I would love to hear it with an English dub. I sometimes wonder if a company like Funimation would be interested in picking up foriegn non-Japanese shows like this one.

Wow, never thought anyone else here has seen Wakfu.

It's definitely a good contender for filling the void of fantasy shows on television, but the whole reason it was created was to advertise an online game wasn't it? Much as I'd love to see it localised, companies would probably see it as a waste unless the game was localised as well so they can make another stream of revenue.

It was, though I don't see why they couldn't just make action figures or console-style video games for it like any other show out there. Code Lyoko and Totally Spies seemed to do fine here, and Wakfu seems like it'd have the potential for more marketability if handled correctly (and the show is written well enough that it never feels like some kind of ad for the MMO). I suppose if they ever decide to release the MMO here it'd be a good time to bring it over.

Eh, it's predecessor game came stateside (Dofus), so there's no reason this game wouldn't, either. The first two episodes are coming to the Official English Site, so there's a good chance the rest will be released in English.

That said, I loved what I've seen of the animation, but I don't really care for any of the lead character designs, and my favorite design belongs to an apparently minor character. So I'm probably not going out of my way to see it.

Three other people who know about this series?
I'm not alone!
It's already 2 years old, the series,
and I've been hoping it would reach the states all the while.

The English dub has been shown in a London convention,
and other than that, there hasn't been anything released, I think.
The only comment I heard about the dub is that Yugo's voice is a little annoying.

Which one is that?

So there is one for London? I figured there might be an international English version; I'm interested in checking it out. I tend to prefer watching series dubbed when possible.

I believe the character's name, according to French site, is Miranda. The whole show seems rather Ecaflip deficient. Of course, the designs for the game aren't much better, but at least the game version of the Iop and Xelor are kind of cool.

And of course, it has a kid hero with a goofy costume. One with an awesome method of fighting, but I can't say I care about the costume.

Yes, Miranda is only in one episode and has a small cameo later on in the Boufbowl arc. The main antagonist of the show is a Xelor, though. Tristepin's an Iop and pretty cool, he has a possessed demon sword that he can transform into different weapons and also let the demon possesses him (or another living creature) so he can fight as a half-demon. Plus, unlike most comic relief characters, he's actually useful in a fight.

His hat is pretty crazy, but the ability to make portal is an awesome and creative way to fight. Especially with how creative the show is about them.

Yeah, I saw the demo video, and it was pretty crazy. Chances are, I heard of this show before you did, in fact (back before it aired in France).

Plus, the hat's the only good part. The rest of the costume is just boring. And Tristepin's pretty much the stripped down rookie version of the game's design.

I'll probably give it a look if it ever airs in English, because it shows that you can actually nake Flash look amazing, but I wish they put some actual thought into the costume designs. If it were a mecha series it wouldn't be a problem, but seeing dull designs fight isn't really my cup of tea.
