Wait for Verizon KRZR or....

After looking at the specs for the KRZR I'm pretty satisfied about the phone. The question is, is it worth the wait? I was thinking of holding onto my NE2 until the phone comes out, but it's obvious that it's gonna be awhile till they release it. What should I do? Should I wait or should I just get another phone? My second alternative would be the v3m but it seems like everyone has a RAZR nowadays and I don't really wanna join the crowd. Any other phones that you might recommend for me?

curious...where's the link indicating that Verizon is going to be carring the KRZR? Do we know if they'll carry the RIZR too? Amazing!

I'd recommend the LG Chocolate...pretty much the same feature set as the V3m with the Flash UI in a nice design that isn't nearly as common as the RAZR

The Motorola RIZR (aka Capri) may be worth the wait. Let's look at a few comperables...

The LG chocolate has ALMOST everything. But wait! What's this - no speakerphone. The Nokia/Patech 6305i is a great little slider. But wait! What's this - no bluetooth (are you serious?!).

What about new Samsung SCH-a990. It's the highest end specs of any non-PDA. Sleek, miniature, 3.2MPix camera, flippable display, MicroSD, Great voice recognition, EVDO. What's not to love. Wait! Band news. I just flipped mine on eBay. Why?! Great in all respects except one. It can't pull in a signal worth cr*p. (Yes -- I even got Verizon to replace the phone. But let's face it. Zero bars when my Motorola v60i, v710 and E815 all show 3 or 4 bars. That means no operation in Elevators, malls, basements, and most buildings. This is a camera/MP3 player and not a phone.

Hey guys, I know this an old post, but I found it while searching.

StarBus, it's nice to see someone else with the same experience I've had, especially since we live in the same area.

I'm on my third A-990. It's a wonderful camera and paperweight. It's a terrible phone. Avoid it if you like to use your phone to talk to people.

Hi Chris,

I don't often come across the name 'Luongo'. I can't help asking if you are related to the family that bought a home in Skokie IL in the early 80s. The head-of-house was the official photographer for a harness racing track.

Next about the Samsung SCH-a990. When I finally told the Verizon repair associate that I am disappointed in comparison with my v60i, v710 and E815. He said, "Oh Well. That's not a fair comparison. Everyone knows that the Motorola phones have awesome reception and can place calls from anywhere." That was all I needed to hear to return to Moto. Even without an external antenna the tiny KRZR k1 pulls in a signal where no Samsung has gone before (with apologies to Gene Rodenberry).
