Wah Pedal not Working?

I bought a Vox v848 Clyde Mccoy off ebay the other day, and it is in good nick. I have a what I would classify as a fake strat, and a amp the size of a shoebox. I plugged the wah pedal in like this...
Amp > Wah Pedal > Guitar,
and the wah pedal wouldn't work when I ignited it. I'm pretty sure the wah pedal isn't broken, or it could just be the amp?

And does a wah pedal need batteries?
 
Sounds like you connected it right. Guiar>wah pedal>amp>wall outlet.

Most Wah's do need a 9v battery. Chances are you can open up the back or bottom somehow and there is a little connector that you fit on top of the battery. You can also purchase a 9v wall adapter as well.

This Wah does require a battery or 9v adapter.
