Wachovia payments???? trying to buy a car!!?

ok so i went on craigslist and saw a beautiful car i loved at a price i can afford. i send a message to the seller asking about the car. he said that the car is fine and that to sell the car he is using wachovia payments as a 3rd party escrow. he said that he would ship the car with DAS, i checked its a legit auto shipping company, and that he will pay to ship it. finally he said that i would get 5 days to inspect the car.

i want to know if this is for real or a scam? idk anything about wachovia payments, if its real can someone explain how it would work? i know to buy a car u have to sign the title, how would this work if the car owner is in california and i live in florida? trying to buy my first car, dont want to get scammed. Ty for any help u give.
 
well of course he going to say the car is fine, you still need to look at the car in person first and check it all out, also just because he said he'd ship it with DAS which you said is a legit company that doesn't mean its not a scam, all he had to do was look on google, also im not sure what Wachovia Payments is, of course it has to do with the bank but never heard of it before, the fact that he ONLY deals with Wachovia Payments though could mean its a scam, usually the seller doesn't care how he gets the money as long as he gets the money, another thing that makes it sound like a scam is that he said he'll pay to ship it, i've never heard of anybody paying for that, the buyer is the one thats always had that responsibility of shipping it or picking it up
 
Surely a scam. I would keep looking. There is a new ad on craigslist every .0000000001 second.. keep looking... try to find a nice old lady or nice old guy who just needs to sell their car.. had it for years... took good care of it.. has all the receipts in a little folder with the title and insurance papers.. just much nicer to deal with someone like that..
