So after all the crap verizon has dealt me,, I'm almost definitely switching BACK to cingular. Just wondering if anyone could toss me advice for a phone. I use my phone mostly for texting/calling. However, this will be the first oppritunity I've had to get (what I consider) to be a "nice" phone. One with all sorts of cool bells and whistles.

If you have any info/rants/raves on the 810i or the SLVR or any great/crappy phone cingular offers LMK!

thanks,
Andrew

W810i with out a doubt. The Motorola UI is horrible. Plus the 2.0MP camera on the W810i with autofocus and a light cannot be beat by any other Cingular phone. The Walkman software is great for playing videos or MP3s.

I'd have to agree, the w810 has a better UI, Camera and MP3 functionality. The only advantage of the SLVR is the thinness but it has been out longer so more people have it and thus it's lest unique. Also if you are going through Cingular there's the 100 song iTunes limit you have to put up with. So yeah 810 all the way in terms of function.

what was wrong with verizon? i am trying to decide between verizon and cingular. i have heard more good things about verizon (in terms of call quality and customer service). but it reallyd depends on who you talk to. not trying to get way off subject here. ust curious why you don't like verizon.

I'm terminating verizon.
*Verizon does not have nice phones.
*software sucks, very limited functions.
*bluetooth only good for headset, no other functions.
*phones come with about 10 ringtones, and they are annoying. (else, pay or hack)
*occasions that at the exact spot, signal drop from full bar to no service.

I like the ways I do my payments though, and I think they don't charge late fees.
cingular is my new serive provider. + gsm fones can be used throughout the world.

My 2 cents worth...I had the same question, moto L7 or the SE w810i. My wife and daughter both have the L7. As for me, I have wanted one of the SE walkman phones sence seeing them in T3 mag. There is a whole lot more to the w810i than the L7. The w810i is more fun for me, and the cam snaps are wonderful!!! I have a Cingular 2125, but pics sucked, battery life was less than desired, can not "hot swap" the mini SD and the lack of accessories left me longing for something more.

The w810i does everything that I want and need to do plus, this phone is FUN!!! The transfer utillity for the w810i was super easy to add music and such. Have only had the 810i for one week, but I have been very happy thus far.

This is my first Sony Ericsson phone. Can you tell I am totally sold on this little candy bar? I have liked their design with the T616 line. Have a Krusell case coming soon, don't want to get it scratched up and ugly.

I have messed around with the moto L7 for sometime now, I am not impressed. I however, am NOT a fan of Itunes either.

i had boost mobile for 60 days.. Cust serv was as ghetto as can be but 98% of them were nice, friendly and very helpful. But nextel's coverage plain out sux. Literally sux.
Im now with cingular and i get impressive coverage ALL the time with ZERO complaints. However, cust serv is not always good. Its more a 60/40 turn out when i call them. 60% friendly / knowledgeable & helpful whilowledgeabe the 40% are the exact opposite..

Just a word of caution. The w810i is a great phone that does most everything well. But, earpiece volume is low. Indoors in a quiet environment, you will have no problems with the volume up almost 100%. But if it is noisy or you are outside, it will be difficult to hear. Using a bt or wired headset will fix the problem but sometimes you don't want a plug in your ear all the time.
