W600i issues - any input would help:):):)

So my friend gave me a W600i with nothing but the phone its self, he claimed to left the other parts in singapore. When I first got it, it would turn on and I could listening to some pretty ****ty music, but o well I thought it was free. I planned on un-locking the phone and then buying some the nessisary parts to use the phone from day to day. However, the next morning, when I went to turn on my dope newish cell phone. All that would happen is the Sony Erricson logo would appear with a white logo behind it. I talked to my buddy and he put his battery in, and the same thing happens.

Now all that happesn is that when I push the power button, the screen flashes white and then when i release the button the screen goes black.

Do you think I should buy a new battery, and and see if that works? or what?? any suggestions would help me out tons

Try updating the firmware through Sony Ericsson Update Service. If that doesn't work, flash the fw through wotanserver.com or davinciteam.com
 
No problem.

If you have the data cable that came supplied with your phone, then that's all you need. Upgrading the firmware through SEUS is easy. Just download and install the client first and follow the instructions. Wotanserver also makes it simple because they've made a 'Getting Started' guide for new users.

Hey now its saying it has malfunctioned(one of thee USB devices), but sometimes it says w600i has connected...a hardware problem>???
 
So I purchased some cords of ebay for the phone. And now when I plug the phone in, it says USB drive conntected, then 10 seconds later a little bubble appears saying that USB drive has malfunctioned, THO!! a few times when I plug it in it says w600i connected. I downloaded the Sony erricson suite, but when i connect the phone it says no device found. The cords I bought came with a cd, but the links just lead me to the sony site.
 
1. Is the data USB data cable (model #DCU-60) OEM?

2. Did you install the Sony Ericsson PC Suite? Probably the reason why the CD directs you to the SE website is because you can get the PC Suite from there. Go to Support and download then install it. Afterwards, the phone will be recognized by your PC because the drivers were installed.

If there a problems try to uninstall then reinstall the software.
 
If that's the case, just sell it as a parts phone, then use the money you gained from it towards your new phone.

when running wotan client, press 2 and 5 instead of press C when plug the phone

hey i need help real bad to i have a macbook with bluetooth and the sony ericsons have the remote control feture if u ave notices and u can control things threw bluetooth i could possible be controling my laptop with the cell but when i go to entertainment>remote control and hit okay on it it says No More Files what does that mean ?? did i delete something out of the phone could i possibly get them back if have any info please reply this is the wrong spot to put this but i couldnt find anything related.
