This is probably a stupid question, but please give me an honest answer.

I just got an Ericsson W580i yesterday, and it's my first cellphone. I have it mostly figured out, but up next to my signal bars, to the right of it, there's a speaker icon with a blue circle in the lower right background. I can't find out what it means, or how to get rid of it. It doesn't really bug me that it's there, I just want to know why it's there, because no one else seems to have it.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I have the same problem and i have searched through all my options and haven't found a solution. Whatever it activated drains my battery faster though.

I need 3 post - LOL

I need 2 post - LOL

Ok, You can ban me now. Sorry for trouble.

ok...so i think it comes up when the speaker cuts out. i just turned my phone off and back on and it fixed the problem.

Are you sure it's not the 3G icon? If it drains the battery faster, it can't be related just to the speaker ...

I was about to say, it does sound like the 3G icon. This can't be gotten rid of unless it's not in 3G reception range, or you switch your phone to GSM only. 3G is the bit of your phone that enables stuff such as faster internet and video calling.

Is that what you're on about?

I'm not sure what the 3G icon you're speaking of is. But I only had the problem until I restarted my phone. My battery drains normally now and my front speaker is working properly again. Before I wasn't even able to hear my phone ring. No problems since my last post...other than a key cracking.

I have the sony ericsson w580i as well. If you explain your question more I will help
