Hi,
Yeah, saw this at the w/e. Pretty funny (not sure it was meant to be), but at turns occasionally sad. Set in the near present day, interspersed with flashbacks of Dubya's frat / college years and his continued failure to find his true vocation in life. The actors playing the key white house roles were fairly convincing - of note, Scot Genn as Rumsfeld and Richard Dreyfuss as Cheney. If what was seen on the screen is to be believed, Colin Powell (Jeffrey Wright) was the lone voice of reason / sanity during the discussions over WMRAB. The most chilling, and most reminiscent of JFK's 'magic bullet' scene was the chief of staff's meeting, on the plan to secure Iraq for the oil...if it played out like that of course. Fairly enjoyable biopic, could've done with some trimming around the middle, perhaps to focus / show the immediate events post 9/11 but I guess that's been documented elsewhere. A powerhouse performance from Brolin is what makes the movie, with a pitch-perfect impression of Bush - a hick of a man way out of his depth.
No JFK then, but still worth a watch. 7/10.
