VZ 800 Wheel Question.

Hi all,

I'm a newbie here. Just bought my father-in-law's old bike. It is a 1999 Suzuki Marauder with 17000 miles and I got it for a steal of $1500. It has new tires and chain and is pretty much in perfect condition. Already getting the itch to mod some stuff and make it "mine". First thing I wanna change is the seat. leaning towards the Corbin dual tourer and maybe then paint her a dark metallic orange. Now for my question: I am wondering if the forks on the 800 Intruder from about the same year would interchange as I like that laced front wheel look ,and think it would pretty cool on there. I wanna keep my back wheel like it is. or does anyone make aftermarket wheels for this bike. I have searched but to no avail. Thanks for your time and any answers will be greatly appreciated.

Changing forks and wheels is a tricky proposition as it might look good but handle like CRAP. Just be careful and don't make any non-reversible changes as you might end up being VERY sorry that you can't go back. :bluethum:

Curious why you think you need to change forks to change to a laced front wheel...

But anyways, no, the forks to not interchange, as your's are inverted the Intruder's are not. You would have to change the triple tree also, changing the whole front end.

Thanks Doc. I was asking about the forks because I haven't been able to find the wheels anywhere. only ones I have found are the stock one on ebay. I havent been able to find too much except for the usual array of chrome covers for things and seats and stuff just seems like no one makes wheels for this bike
