VX9800 on Cricket already? How to find out?

I have a VX9800 that was totally dead when a friend gave it to me to try and flash to Cricket. He bought it off some yard sale. I got it to partially charge with car charger. And saw that there was a voicemail. Out of curiosity I pushed send to conect to voicemail and got a message from Cricket saying that the phone wasn't authorized for service at this time. So I went into the phones service program to check the settings to see if it was already all set for cricket. It came up with PRL 1039 which is a PRL for Cricket I believe.
The settings for primary and secondary server as well as homepage and password were all set for Verizon.
So I have a couple of questions The first is I have the drivers all downloaded right it is recognized by my comp as LGE CDMA Composite USB Device, USB Modem and USB Serial Port. Bit Pim sees it as well but I can't get it to charge from my computer and don't have the charger for it except for car(and right at the moment have no access to charge it by car anyway). Any ideas why it won't charge from USB????
Also is there any way short of giving Cricket the ESN to activate it that I can use to find out if it is indeed already flashed to Cricket?? I have LG download but until I get it to take a charge I can't use that to go to NV edit.
I know I am probably going about this the hard way so if anyone would like to clue my clueless lil mind in I would appreciate it.
 
from what I read....

It sounRAB like it was indeed "flashed" but only partially.... talk/text.

I would definitely try a charger before switching my nuraber to it though.... make sure you will be able to charge your phone.

If you do get it up... there is an excellent tutorial for that phone already posted on this site so that you can get the rest of your features.
 
I got it charged up and am using the tut from Berry for the 9900 with a few changes that he posted in another thread.....I tried to find a tut for this and found only Berrys single post....that says the settings for mms are the same as for the vx8550...
I have the phone settings all nice and pretty for cricket....mms wap etc. so it is good to go.
I tried to hook this up online and was told it is not possible by the chick who was helping me. She said I have to go into Cricket to get service for this phone as she only can set up new service....Duh thats what this is as I had told her in the beginning
I have to have this done asap and all I have is $5 dollars on my paypal that I will give to anyone who can tell me how I can do this either online or over the phone.....anyone???
 
if you have service already just call customer service or go into a cricket store and do an ESN change.... they will need the DEC MEID from the phone
 
Dont have service already tryin to get set up so I can have service and phone activated....can I do it over the phone ??? The store here in phoenix is ridiculous in my part of town....sometimes an hour wait....thats why I want to do this online if I can.....pm me for my paypal thing... thanks!
 
Never mind...Thanks Puntaz for the suggestion...called 1800cricket from home phone finally got a live person and she hooked me up! yeah yeah I know Duh! Thats what I get for thinkin too hard!
