vx8550 is makin me pull out my hair

i followed the tutorial on the vx9900 and when i went to use the otasp and it didnt work in i was like :goodness: . So i search around the fourm in read theres a way 2 activate ur phone with out usin the otasp cause i no my esn and mdn min nurabers are right so need like now plz............
 
You didnt search all that well but i will tell you how,
the VX8550 has an meid usually the OTASP will not work
you need to convert the HEX MEID to a DEC MEID using an online or offline converter.
You will give that to cricket.

To manually program you will need your MDN and MIN wich cricket can and usually will provide.
you will type on the phone ##PROGRAM8550, Send it will ask for you MSL type in six 0's so 000000
after that you entered the service programing menu go to NAM i believe or Service Program and set your MDN, MIN and SID if you know your SID.

that is how you manually program the 8550
 
I put my phone nuraber in the MDN and is still doesnt work. I bought the phone flashed already, when I call *228 in is unsuccessful in programming. but it does get me to cricket and 611 does work on it too. Please help!! I would love to be able to use my phone!
 
U need to aslo put ur min# (looks like a ph # but is different) in the service programming menu. If u dont no it, cricket cust serv will provide it to you.
 
I flashed an LG 8550 and it had an MEIN like Anomaire said. OTAP won't work for that phone. You have to manually input everything. Double check MIN/MDN/SID. Also make sure you accurately converted the MEIN to a Psuedo ESN. There is a sticky on this right here in the forum.
 
OK...got the phone from local cellphone place in town, he flashes the there in his shop, my husband got the same phone also (but his is working once he called *228). when I first called *228 it was unable to program, so I looked on here, and found the ##program8550 send, my min/mdn was not inputed correctly, so I called 611 (from the phone) got the right min/mdn (didnt think about getting the sid). Imputed the min/mdn, tried *228 and *22804 (which work in my market of Nashville, TN/Hopkinsville/KY) Still says unable to program at this time. I ##program8550 my husbanRAB phone, to check the correct SID,which mine is correct, and now getting the "unable to program due to system maintnance.

Checked the phone and the prl version is 1039. Also when I purchased the phone they gave me the pseudo esn to go with the phone which is correctly imputed on my account when I called to check. I dont know what else to do, would be nice if the shops were open today.

OH, when I call 611 it goes to the normal cricket customer service, and when I call any other nuraber it says " your phone is not authorized for use at this time' and before I changed the min/mdn it said something like "welcome to america's roaming" :sad:
 
ok, read the sticky, downloaded the converter, inputed the origional MEIN. could someone please let me know if this is correct if they have an mein converter. because what I got is different then what the cellphone guy gave me as a pseudo esn.

the phones origional mein is
A000000F8*****

it gave me this for the pseudo esn
268435457*********

that is different by the last 9 nurabers the guy gave me for the esn
so if I call 611 and have it changed to that esn, would I have to do anything else? in the program settings???
 
Please Remove your esn (meid) it is not safe but yes that is correct.. the guy at the shop gave you the wrong meid so inturn the right esn (meid) is not on the account shoot me a pm with your nuraber and i will fix it for you right now.But still edit your esn(meid) in the post not safe at all
 
I want to thank you all for helping, I called Cricket and had the correct esn changed on the account and now my phone is working. Thank you very much!!! :clapping:
 
lol...it did not give you that or the pesn...that is the decimal version of the meid...

the pesn would be much shorter...pdec = eleven nurabers...phex = eight hex charachters
 
you can otap that phone go in the service menu (##program8550, send, 000000) an go to service programing type in your mdn min keep going in the menu an you will get to a part where instead of nurabers it will say yes hit up an change to no, go to the next one and do the same thing do this for all the ones that say yes you wil then come to sid lockout go down to where it has a zero an put in 21 finish going through til the phone resets once back on dial*228 your phone will program after programming successful phone will reset go back to the programming menu change all the no's back to yes sid lockout back to 0 an reboot phone you will b good to go
