vx10000 and vx8550 text trouble

I've flashed two lg vx8550's and one vx10000 this week and none will text, Voice works fine. Is there some reason that regular texting wont work? I thought that if voice worked texting would too.

If you can receive, but not send text messages, it may be because there is a weird "signature" on the phone, that uses characters which cricket doesn't support.

If there's a signature, try removing it, and see if it fixes the problem.

I've only ever seen this be a problem on LG phones, usually VX8500, and only a handful of times.

More likely, stevekice is right, cause lately there has been higher rate of missing features on new accounts....

beezlewaxin,

sorry if this sounRAB like a stupid question but what exactly do you mean by signature? Like the signature and the end of a text from a iphone that says "sent from my iphone"? Thnaks in advance for any insight.

Yes, that's the signature I'm referring to.

For example, I would bet, if these two people were on Cricket, and had an LG, their outgoing sms probably would never work:

Example 2

Just stick to the letters/chars on your phone's keypad, and you should be ok. If you have to pull up the syrabol screen, well, just test whatever signature you choose, to make sure it's ok.

Having similar problem...
vx8550 will receive sms texts but not send.
I have seen this same problem on a samsung atlas.
Not looking for a hand out but some guidance would be nice.

Going into a Cricket store to have your account refreshed solves this problem. I have never had a phone that this doesn't solve it. People keep calling Cricket customer service to have this done and they get a rep that either has no clue what to do or is too lazy to do it.

Go to the store to get it done. That is the solution. That has been covered here numerous times.
