VX-8300 vs. Chocolate (VX-8500)

On Verizon, I am currently using an LG VX-7000. I am missing the antenna and the side buttons no longer work. The phone is a year and 10 months old. I am looking to replace it for a year, maybe two, though I do not know where I will be in a year so I would like to avoid committing to a two year contract if possible.

I am looking at the two phones mentioned above. The 8300 is $120 on the VW website and the 8500 is $200. What factors should I consider and which phone is better for my situation?
 
The Chocolate doesn't have a speakerphone which might not be a big deal if you are coming from a 7000. The 8300 is generally a better phone IMO because of the flash UI and it was designed as a phone not a chocolate bar.
