VW to buy Ducati?

And is buying a controlling interest in Porsche. Strange how the economic meltdown flipped that from Porsche buying a controlling interest in VAG.

Personally, I have no problems with it. As VAG has proven they are able to allow niche' builders to continue making insane vehicles, update electronics and ergonomics, and not run their subsidies totally into the ground.

Yes, I am a dub fanatic as well:

VW wants to buy a bike, they should buy MV Agusta since HD will be selling them already. I would say buy Buell, but since HD wouldn't allow it and would rather see the Buell die, guess thats not really an option! Fuck 'em.

more money, more resources, I cant see the down side. I know designers at the VW/audi studio in santa monica, and they love it there. the projects they had some really great projects come out of there

mv would be a nice addition as well, I know from very good sources that a lot of motorcycle concepts sketches have been floating around the VW/audi studio's, plus we should remember that audi had two motorcycle companies under there banner, so the notion isn't far fetched

HA! This is what happens often in a takeover:

other then funnel money harley has stayed out of design and engineering for the most part, it was the smartest thing HD has done. harley money definitly improved mv performance on the 1078. Buell uses a freelancer for his styling, and outsources rotax for there engines, brembo for the frame and swingarm. Even the Vrod was mostly done by freelance designers, and the engine was developed by porsche.

Wow Jules, for being in one of the top tier Governments alphabet organizations you're johnny on the spot today.. yeah, we kind of threw this info out a few posts ago
