I was listening to NPR today. They were covering a story on Americas rising food prices. NPR interviewed a woman who works full time, has 3 kids and can barely afford to buy food for them especially since food prices went up dramatically in the last few months. She was talking about how she had to cut down on things she used to buy her kids like cookies, chips etc. Now she's down a position where she has to cut down on even the necessities that she actually needs to get through the day. She mentioned that when she takes her kids to buy groceries, she knows that there are things that her kids want to get but she can't afford them. They tell her that its okay and they don't need it. She can't say anything and hides her emotion, feeling ashamed.
It is very very sad to hear a story like this especially in a country that is supposedly the world's richest. Shame on Bush and Shame on People who support this president. I'm ashamed to call this guy a president. He led this country to an illegal war that should not have been authorized. They spent billions of our tax dollars in the war, sent this country to a recession, and destroyed the housing market along with everything else imaginable. Just think about where America would've been if the money they spent in Iraq was used here instead in the states to improve our schools, infrastructure, health care et. al.
Now Mr. McCain wants to continue Bush's failed policy. He wants to continue a war that makes no sense. This war by far has not made America safer. In fact, it destroyed Americas' reputation around the world. America's moral standing in the world is down to a position where one(nation) no longer looks up to for help when it faces a disaster.
Well.. I say NO. No to the Republicans. No to McCain. No to the war. No to Blood For Oil. I think it is time we (the Americans) stand up and get this country back on track. Gain back the integrity, honestly and prosperity that have been wiped off over the last 8 years.
A Leader is someone who is supposed to lead and not follow. Well clearly Mr. McCain is not a leader. But a follower. He wants to follow Bush and his failed legacy. We should not let that happen.
One last suggestion, for the love of humanity, People do not make the same mistake twice. Do not elect a president who wants to continue the war, continue Bush's failed policy, continue to spend billions of dollars on the war overseas, and continue to lie to the American people about why the war was started in the first place.
Now the Choice is yours. Do your part and be wise in this upcoming election.
If you read this carefully, you'll see that I'm not advocating for the Democrats here.
Also in regards to some of your response about Sen. McCain, I not insulting him personally in any way. But I do not agree with his approach to issues at stake in this election. I have great respect for his services to this country.
But he's way out of touch when it comes to issues like the war.
