Volver

I enjoyed it. I had no expectations, and I found it really charming and unusual. It came together well in the last hour or so. Great performance from Penelope Cruz.

Much better than a lot of what's out there, and i'm glad UK film promoted it so it was on a widespread release.

Finally got round to seeing it. Not entirely convinced it lives up to the hype, more than anything it seemed as if after the incredibly atmospheric beginning in the graveyard, Almodovar decided to change tack and make a Hitchcock homage. The low-key ending also felt like it came from a different film.

It wasn't a bad film by any means, the cinematography was superb (and every shot was beautifully composed) and the acting was excellent. The plot just didn't work for me.
