Isn't that evidence that combined Capitalism/Socialism is more efficient?
Isn't it more important that money go back to the manufacturing sector and the middle class working public than in the pockets of incompetent, crooked, greedy Wall Street CEOs in the form of huge bonuses and payouts for ruining their companies?
Soviet - Volkswagens are NOT cheap last time I checked. They are just better made due to Unions and not using slave labor.

And it took them....how many decades to do this??

EDIT: To the guy below me (apparently WAY below me) Not hardly! Capitalism is what made our country great. And because suddenly for an inkling of a moment when the world economy is down, VW squeaks by, I would hardly call that proof that capitalism is failing. .

If anything good happens in a socialist country, socialism did it, if anything good happens in a capitalist country, capitalism didn't do it, or something like that, explain to me why Europe has such high quality education... I'll tell you, because the school funding is attached to the student, schools aren't just given free money, they actually have to attract students to stay open, that's capitalist free markets at work, and that's why Europeans are smarter than us.

... or it just proves that cheap cars sell better than expensive ones during a recession.
