VOIP for N95

Hello group.

I currently am the proud owner of the Nokia N70, a phone which I purchased by happenstance, when I had to send a second Motorola of the year in for repair. Now I'm hopelessly in love with Symbian, and am ready to purchase the N95.

The only problem is I'm unable to find a VOIP client that will work with the 3G/GRPS network.

I'm using Fring now, but it doesn't work on the N95.
I've looked into EQO but it wants me to be running Skype on my computer at all times. (I get my internet from my cell phone so that kills that idea.)
I've looked at Mig33 but the rates are too high because I'm in Italy.
I've looked at iSkoot and the N95 isn't supported.
I've looked at Jajah and because I'm in Italy the rates are too high.

I have to think it's just a matter of time until something will support the N95... I mean the N95 is more of a computer then the N70.

Anyhow, does anyone know of a VOIP client that will work on the N95? Preferably something that can utilize WiFi, G3, and GRPS?

Thanks in advanced for any help.

how do you think can we test N95 with VoIP when there are no N95 production unit that are even out in the market???

anyway, have you tried truphone??? skype is said to be available next month...

I found a guy on eBay who sells lots and lots of mobile phones who is offering the N95 for $400.00. I'm buying it Tuesday.

Truphone says it will support the N80 soon... which says to me it won't work (now) on the N95.

Thanks for the warning. eBay is telling me this e-mail address isn't registered with them. I think this guy is posing as a power seller when he's really someone else. I sent a message to him through eBay but I haven't heard anything yet.

Is the N95 even out yet?

I thought $400.00 was a bit too good to be true.

I nearly sold my N70 to pay this joker for a phone that has not even been released. Yikes. Thank you very very much.

How flippin' irritating.

I love this forum more and more!

Okay, I know you guys are going to think I am naive, but I emailed this seller, through ebay, and have yet to receive a response.

Then I emailed the address I have been conversing with and got a response.

She said she received the phones from Finland, where Nokia is located, and that the phone has been released elsewhere in Europe. Further, she sent me her website address.

I have checked it out and... well... I thought I would share it with you guys.

They have a deal... 3 N95's for $750.

It definitely smells fishy to me. What do you guys think?

are you really just trying to pull our legs or are you insanely ***** up in the head? The phone is not available...period! Anyone says that have it in stock are lying. Keep an eye on importgsm. When that dude gets a proto and puts it up for 2500 or so then that 1 is probably available...other than that, theres no chance in H your getting one.

A few different people already posted that this was a scam. How many more people did you need to tell you the same thing, before you stopped asking??

The office manager at my job was in a similar situation, where she wanted to buy a toy yorkie. She was corresponding with somebody from Nigeria who wanted her to send money via Western Union. I explained the Nigerian scam to her and proceeded to ask others around the office, if they knew of the Nigerian scam and one other person had been burned. Even after all of this, the idiot kept corresponding. I don't know what has happened since then.

I don't think the word naive really describes you.

I'm really surprised at how rude you folks are.

This is the first time I've come across this scam. As I was posting here, and getting your input, I was corresponding with this scammer and now I know, he's not legit.

insanely ***** up in the head
I don't think the word naive really describes you.

As you both say, I may not be naive, and I may be insanely ****ed up in the head, but I've been nothing but inquisitive, polite and friendly.

I dont think people are trying to be rude to you Dakev. The N95 is not for sale. Plus if it were available from a common outlet then Im sure the phone would not be available for less then $700 US? They are warning you and letting you know that if something rare (not released publicly) is selling for less then the projected MSRP then it must be too good to be true. Please take care.

Thanks. After a bit of investigating and the warnings from this forum, I figured it out. My gripe was with these comments... like I'm some stupid fu**.

I would be stupid if I didn't ask questions.

Anyhow, whatever. I'll keep my N70 and be happy with it.

Yes people in this forum do tend to be rather rude for some reason. I apologize for their rudeness. Please do continue to post any questions or input you may have.

To everyone else: lighten up.
