Voice Memo & Photo Add-ons

I've lost the Palm OS Voice memo & Photo apps and I don't find them on the CD Essential software. Where can I find these as add-ons (if they are such) or how do I add these to my Palm OS?

Thanks all

What handheld do you have? Most devices with voice recording have the voice memo software preinstalled in rom. Also, Palm Desktop comes with a voice memo module for listening to the recordings on your desktop.

I have a T3. It is installed and working on the Palm. But I want it synchronized to the Palm Desktop...which I've worked with before and has now "magically" disappeared (ID-10-T error I'm sure)

Thanks!

Heather:

I have the same issue described above. I have a new PC and downloaded the desktop software from the PALM website for my T3 - had to download from the website because I can't find the CD. On my original desktop (loaded from the CD that came with my T3), there were icons for Expense, Photo, Notepad and Voice Memo at the left where the icons for Calendar, Contacts, Memos, etc., are located. These icons don't appear anymore, and therefore you can only access those applications through the handheld.

Thanks for the link you provided; however, that doesn't address this issue.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Voice Memo & Photo Add-ons

Hi all:

Well I finally did resolve this with the help of Palm. (They were most helpful, supportive, and detailed, so kudos to them!)

The Palm desktop that you download from their website is NOT the same as the Palm destop on the CD which DOES contain all the other (original) features, so...

You have to UNINSTALL the existing downloaded Palm software, reboot (to clear cache and registry entries), then install from the Palm CD. That worked great.

Here is their complete instructions:

First, back-up your User Folder for later retrieval:

Exit the Palm Desktop Software if it is currently running.
Locate your User Folder within the Palm Desktop Software directory.

C:\Program Files\palmOne\%YOUR_USERNAME%

OR

C:\Program Files\Palm\%YOUR_USERNAME%

Copy and Paste your User Folder in your Desktop for later retrieval.

Apply Microsoft Cleanup Utility and Reinstall the Palm Desktop Software:

1. Download and install the Microsoft Cleanup Utility that can be found at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301

2. Run the application.

3. Select all Palm Desktop Software occurrences or anything that says Palm on it and remove it by the button below.

4. Restart your computer.

5. Delete ?C:\Program Files\palmOne? or ?C:\Program Files\Palm? from your computer.

6. Insert your handhelds original disc and reinstall the Palm Desktop Software.

7. Restart your computer.

Restore your User Folder:

Exit the Palm Desktop Software if it is currently running.
Locate the backed up User Folder in the Desktop.
Copy & Paste the folder onto:

C:\Program Files\palmOne\

OR

C:\Program Files\Palm\

Click ?Yes? if prompted to overwrite.

The procedures above will ensure that all Palm Desktop Software remnants in your computer be refreshed that will allow a complete and clean reinstallation of its components.

Good Luck!
