Voice actors who have voiced a character for a LONG time

I was watching some Winnie the Pooh with my daughter, and thought about the fact that Jim Cummings had been doing Pooh's voice for 21 years now (since New Adventures started in 1988). Can you think of any other voice actors that have been doing, or did, one voice for a really long time? Off the top of my head, I'm sure Mel Blanc did some Looney Tunes voices for a long time. Actually, I just checked, he did Daffy Duck and Porky Pig's voices for 52 years!

Casey Kasem did Shaggy from 1969-1998, before they subbed him with first Billy West, then Scott Innes, for the DTV movies. They finally brought him back for the What's New series (2002-05). Heather North took over as Daphne in 1970, and essayed the part up until the end of the 13 Ghosts series (1985-6), making it 15 years, not 20.

Frank Welker is the only original cast member who's still at it 40 years later without being replaced.

Meanwhile, for another example, Alan Reed was the original Fred Flintstone, but H-B got lucky and had Henry Corden in the bullpen, shall we say, to succeed him after Reed's passing. Corden passed away himself not too long ago, but not before doing Fred for nearly 30 years!

Not as long as the others but Kevin Conroy and Mark Hammil are still playing Versions (but not all) of batman and Joker, what with the new Batman game comeing out. Sure they are not the only voices for those characters but they still play them from time to time since 1992.

Clarence "Ducky" Nash voiced Donald Duck from the beginning up to his death in 1985. Nash's final performance as Donald was in Mickey's Christmas Carol (1983). Ironically, Donald was only Disney character in the special to have his original voice.

Donald is currently being voiced by Tony Anselmo.

Jim Macdonald as the second voice of Mickey Mouse voiced Mickey from 1946 to 1974. Shortly after, Wayne Allwine, the current voice of Mickey, took over in 1977 making him the guy who's voiced Mickey the longest.

You can also count Heather's appearance as Daphne in 'The Legend of the Vampire' and 'Monster of Mexico' movies which would make it close to 20 years or longer. Let me think of others. There's John Fiedler who voiced Piglet for many years until he died recently. I think he was about the only 'Winnie-the-Pooh' VA who portrayed the same characters in the original movies, 'The New Adventures,' and subsequent movies and TV series. But correct me if I'm wrong on that. Anyway, I think he's been at the role for at least 30 years now.

By the way, I'm a little confused at that since according to wikipedia, Allwine voiced Mickey for the first time in the Christmas Carol which didn't come out until 1983. But maybe that info is incorrect. When did Wayne voice Mickey in 1977?

Kevin Conroy played Batman for what...12 or 13 years?

In the new Batman videogame for PS3/360, Kevin Conroy is even reprising his role as Batman, so you can technically say he still voices Batman to the present day.

It wasn't a constant job, but I would include Bud Collyer. He played Superman in the Fleischer Brothers cartoons in the 1940's and again for the Filmation series in the 1960's. Add to that the Superman radio series, which ran five days a week for seven years (over 1100 episodes!), and Collyer holds the records for playing Superman longer and more times than any other actor.

French voice actor Roger Carel, who voices Asterix in the animated movies, has been doing that character for over 42 years. He first started doing the role on a radio show.

Jack Mercer, voice of Popeye (though not the original), performed the character between 1935 and his death in 1984, on both the big and small screens, even though he was on hiatus in the mid-40's due to serving in the armed forces.
