Voice Acting...

Here's an interesting question..

I think I read an article that someone had created an invention that could let you know what people long dead sounded like in reality, using facial feature mapping and all other fun stuff...

Do you think that people with the same facial features and same height..etc... could produce the same type of voice with the proper training?

Sort of a confusing, weird question....

Hm I dunno. However, the emphasis in Voice Acting is on fhe acting, not so much the voice. You could have a great voice for a character, but be a terrible actor. Also, people should decide themselves whether they want to audition for a role.

They can reproduce dead people's voices? I wish they would use that to replace dead voice actors, rather than getting a fill in that usually sounds way off. They'd just have to work on getting the emotions to sound right.

And soon, we shall find out that George Washington, the father of our country, sounds frighteningly similar to Gilbert Gotfried.

Honestly, there's something inhuman about this, and I'd rather not see voice actors potentially lose jobs to machines. A machine might be able to get the sound... but can it act?
