I have bought a vodafone wireless usb stick with 6 gig of net included. I can rarely connect to the 3g network and always get shoved onto the GPRS network, which even with full bars runs at about 3 kbps (slower than dial up) and is so slow its not even useable. My question is why does my iphone have full bars on the Three 3G network (considering vodafone and Three are the same now) and the fact that my house mate has the optus wireless usb and gets full bars on the optus 3G network (considering again that Vodaphone and Three share the same 3G network as Optus) ?? Does it sound like i have a sub-standard usb modem from vodaphone and the reason it almost always connects to the GPRS network (and gets 1 bar on the 3G network if it hangs on long enough) ??
