Vodafone pay as you go freedom packs?

With Vodafone freedom packs you can only have one Pack at a time. Packs are valid for 30 days. The date that the Pack is added to your account will count as the first day. It will run out at midnight on the 30th day. Vodafone says a £15 topup gets you 400 mins and 600 texts. Tmobile says a £15 topup gives you free unlimited calls and 600 texts.

Have a look at their sites; but in my view tmobile seems cheaper (as they do 5p a text anyway, vodafone does 10p).

I'm with vodafone on pay as you go and I'm just wondering what the cheapest plan is - I can't get my head around the freedom packs and if they work out better value for money rather than just topping up without a pack. I tend to go through about a ten pound top up once a month and usually text. I don't use calls very often. Thanks
