Vodafone Network Lock......................?

I have a Samsung E250 with a spanish vodafone sim card. I found an english vodafone sim card in one of my old phones & wanted to use that one for moving back to england but when i put it in, it came up with "network lock" and wanted a password which i don´t know. I'm confused because it is vodafone too so it shouldnt be a problem.
