Vodafone dongle says another application using it and wont connect?

I have had and used the dongle with my laptop for over 6 months with no problems, i have had wifi installed at home recently, but still use dongle when i take laptop to work. However all of a sudden it will connect, then disconnect saying another application using it... i tried turning off wifi, chking all apps, uninstalling and reinstalling and nothing, so i tried a system restore and it wont work at all now. all it was showing was that it was set up for wifi and lan as well as mobile broadband, which it had not done before the problems. i tried to change settings but nothing. any help would be appreciated..... i am lost with out it during my lunch hour :(
 
Your vodafone dongle is controlling all network services including wireless adapter.
Whenever you are trying access internet via dongle, that dongle already controlling the wireless/wired networks. So dongle service wont be available for mobile broadband.
Uninstall dongle software and remove mobile broadband network.

Next time you install select only the mobile broadband option.
