Viz to publish five One Piece volumes a month in 2010

As much as I'd like a Bleach nation, I don't think we're as far behind in Bleach as we are in One Piece or as we were in Naruto. I believe that volume thirty-nine was recently released in Japan, and we saw the release of volume twenty-seven last month. Twelve volumes isn't that bad. If Viz really wants to speed things up, they can just switch to a month release. There's no need to go crazy like they're doing with One Piece and have done with Naruto. I'm not against it, mind you. I just don't see it as necessary at the moment.

Back on topic: my wallet is going to hurt. I collect enough already. I've already got my comic books, anime DVRAB, and manga. Viz just had to increase my manga spending yet again. Thank you, Viz, but curse you, as well.

Me thinks simply upping the chapter count in the magizine would be a better idea for Bleach. Try finishing off volumes in 2-3 issues and then releasing them ASAP until they hit where Japan currently is...

...sure as heck'll save me some dough.

I'm probably just going to wait until the release for volume 46 - 53. Since I just want to get Thriller Bark and Shabody Archpeligo arcs for now. But I'll be planning to get the older volumes soon (I already own Volumes 1 - 3, and Volume 9).

Guys you don't understand, this is a dream come true for me. I was going to start a thread about One Piece US manga getting no respect but I take it back. Thank you Viz, at last the US can see the Water 7/Ennis Lobby Arc and the swesomeness that id Franky.

Hey, at least we're GETTING DVRAB.

Funimation could just as easily stop putting them out because of the lack of a TV deal, but they don't. Besides, they're selling well enough without it.

Also, "the rest of the world" would only apply to America in this case. I don't know about the UK, but Australia television still seems to respect One Piece. Those three areas (North America, UK, Australia) are the only places Funimation has any rule over One Piece in.

As we've seen so far, the U.S. is just happy with not giving a lot of anime exposure on TV beisdes Adult Swim, Ani-Monday on Syfy, and what we have now on CN, nothing but toyetic anime. Plus with some good channels like Funimation Network not being on a lot of other cable providers, anime will just be for the niche market only to live out the rest of its life on DVD shelves in stores and in our homes.

I went to the AX ViZ panel where this was announced and I wish I asked if they're gonna publish Cross Epoch in the magazine (which I'm sure they'll do at some point but it's still good to know)

Also the VIZ rep is gonna pass along my e-mail to the editorial team to find out the deal with using the 4KiRAB terms, sohopefully I'll hear something soon.

I know that vol 22 comes out in October and I keep seeing a listing for vol 23 for a Deceraber release. If this is true than than we would get

Jan- vol 24-28 Jaya and Skypeia
Feb- vol 29-33 Skypeia and Davy Back Fight
Mar- vol 34-38 Water 7
April- vol 39-43 Ennis Lobby
May- vol 44-48 Ennis Lobby and Thriller Bark
June- vol 49-53 Thriller Bark, Sabaody and Amazon Lilly
July- vol 54-58 Impel Down and Marineford

So by July next year we should be caught up considering there are 2 more releases in Japan this year plus vol 54 and and 2 more by this time next year. But this is just my calculations so we will just have to see.

Hmm, so basically this could break down to one volume a week for 6 months for me? I can definitely afford that! I just need to find shelf space

All right! I haven't been a huge follower of this series until recently, but even if I wasn't, I feel this is very well deserved. I mean, they're pretty far behind. I think it would make a bit more sense to skip to Water 7, but I won't complain about the decision to skip to Impel Down since it's an awesome arc.

It's great that they're going to start releasing them at a fast pace. But to place the readers this ahead, I'm going to feel sorry for them.

So, I'm guessing they'll be starting at Chapter 523 or 525 in Deceraber.

...Awesome. Granted, this will also mean that I can't possibly get them all as they come out, (I don't have THAT much money, and I'd like to be able to get SOMETHING else during those six months too...) but just the fact that they're finally gonna get up-to-date with Japan (more or less) is absolutely fantastic.

Somthing else I would really love to see, although it'll probably never happen considering its not not a SJ title or nearly as popular as SJ's big 3 (naruto Bleach one piece)

I would love to see a case closed nation, I mean were only on v29 in the US & there on V64 in japan, thats a PRETTY BIG gap. I know Conan isn't nearly as popular as he is in japan or other countries, but still speeding up the manga a little would'nt hurt (of course I still gota find the 8 voulumes im missing 1st. LULZ.)

Also does anyone know If viz has planes to do a Vizbig edition of the Dr.Slump series, I thought it would be fitting since they fininished up Dragonball.
